Business-Owner & Director Planning
Joined-up planning for company owners, directors and the self-employed.
What this is
Running a business brings financial questions that personal advice alone does not answer: how to protect the business and the people in it, how to draw and invest profits tax-efficiently, and how to plan for the day you step back. These decisions work best when they are considered together.

Common questions
How can I protect my business if a key person or owner dies?
Arrangements such as key person protection, shareholder and partnership protection and business loan protection can provide funds to keep the business running, buy back shares or repay borrowing. I help you put the right cover and agreements in place so the business and the people in it are protected.
What is a Relevant Life Plan?
A Relevant Life Plan is a life policy a company can take out on an employee or director, often in a tax-efficient way, paying a lump sum to their family if they die. It can be a cost-effective way to provide death-in-service style cover for a small business. Tax treatment depends on your circumstances and may change.
Can you work alongside my accountant?
Yes, and it often helps. I coordinate with your accountant where it makes sense, so decisions about protection, pensions, profit extraction and succession are joined up rather than made in isolation.
Not sure where to start?
You don’t need to have it all figured out. Get in touch for a free, no-obligation conversation and we’ll work out the right next step together.
