Common questions
Why do I need a will?
A will makes sure your estate passes to the people you choose and can make things far simpler for your family. Without one, the law decides who inherits, which may not reflect your wishes. I help you put a will in place that fits your circumstances, from a straightforward single will to more complex arrangements.
What is a Lasting Power of Attorney?
A Lasting Power of Attorney lets you appoint someone you trust to make decisions on your behalf if you become unable to, covering either your property and finances or your health and welfare. Putting one in place while you are well avoids difficulty for your family later.
Can life insurance help with inheritance tax?
It can. A whole-of-life policy written in an appropriate trust can provide a lump sum to help meet an inheritance tax bill, so more of your estate passes to your family. Whether it suits you depends on your circumstances, and I explain the options plainly. Tax treatment depends on your individual circumstances and may change.
